LaughCash — frequently asked questions
What is LaughCash?
A live-video game for two people. One player has thirty seconds to make the other laugh; the other has to keep a straight face. Then you swap roles and do it again.
What do I need to play?
A browser with a camera and a microphone, and to be 18 or over. It runs in a phone browser as well as on a computer, and there is nothing to install.
How does a match work?
An eight-second face-off picks who starts as Joker and who starts as Stoner. Two rounds of thirty seconds follow, with the roles swapped for the second. If you are level after two, a third round decides it and both players are the Joker.
Who decides whether someone laughed?
Fair Play, which watches both faces while the round runs and calls the moment one of them breaks. It reads the video, not anything a player tells it.
Is LaughCash free to play?
Yes. You are given LaughCash when you create an account, and a top-up if you run low, so you can keep playing without paying. You can also buy more.
What is LaughCash the currency?
The in-app currency you stake on a match. Public tables run from 5 to 100 LaughCash and the winner takes the pot. You can buy it by card in US dollars, and the price of a pack is shown before you pay.
Can I turn LaughCash back into money?
No. LaughCash is spent inside the game. There is no withdrawal and no cash value.
Can I play against a friend instead of a stranger?
Yes. A private room has its own invite link, and those rooms go down to a 1 LaughCash stake, for when the point is the game rather than the pot.
Is the match recorded?
Every match leaves a clip of itself, which you can watch afterwards and share if you want to. What is kept, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
